A vampire and demon walk into a brothel, but they’re not looking for services. They’re looking for HER.

Being a business owner and whore house madam has kept Maude very busy since her husband’s grisly death. She doesn’t have time for games or interruptions, but fate rarely gives us what we expect. One moment she’s minding her own business; the next, two extremely good-looking men come to offer her immortality. Making deals with demons can be tricky—she should have read all the fine print, or at least asked more about HIM.

Now she’s faced with a vampire, a demon, and a god, all hiding in plain sight. What they ask of her will rock her to her very core. She needs to keep her head on straight and not let her new power—or the tempestuous god—seduce her.

Even knowing that she would be walking into a trap, Maude would do what was needed of her.

She was not prepared for the seemingly same circus, the same smells, and the very familiar magic, but most of all, Maude was not prepared to see HIM again. The truth of her situation would become more than she could bear.

Th“A soothsayer and a witch walk into a voodoo shop with a ghost probelm” might sound like an opening line to a great joke, but dealing with a murderous ghost is only fun in fantasy games, not real life. Kathryn and Cole find themselves having to deal with such a poltergeist just days after meeting. Little did they know, that a ghost would just be the start to their problems.

Kathryn
Go to work, save money, and keep her head down at home. She couldn’t believe she gave up exploring more of her witchy powers for a man. No, not a man, a walking red flag. For now, she’ll stay the course, make a plan to safely get out of this toxic relationship, and avoid distractions. That is until it’s time to host a little table top role play game. Easy peasy, or so she thought. She never expected her best friend to bring a new player into the mix.

Cole
Repressing the gifts given to you by the gods is never a good idea; especially when you take human medication to suppress them. The gods will have their pound of flesh one way or another. Cole finds his foresight bursting through the medically induced brain fog, and someone ends up on the wrong end of his knife. He finds himself rushing back home, to New Orleans, to live with his grandma. Now he’s dealing with trying to master his foresight while learning about vampires, demons, gods, and alligator shifters. Not to mention the pretty little witchling who likes to lie about her dice rolls.

DISADVANTAGE

Book cover titled "Night Shift" with a raccoon in front of a house at night, green and dark tones, depicting a dark romance theme by S. A. Burd.

From the Ozarks to Appalachia shouldn’t be too much of a change for Heather. As a nurse, she has learned that all people deserve to be treated like patients worthy of her care. But what happens when all the people you meet in a small mountain town aren’t exactly… human?

Heather

Heartbreak paired with a new job opportunity is definitely the work of some sort of outside influence. Heather’s friend blames The Fates, while Heather… well… she would just like to settle into her new house and new job. It should be an easy paycheck; traveling through a small town for just one client. But is leaving her night shift at the ER for a life of clocking in and out during daylight hours really everything she signed up for?

Billy

He should never have been alpha, at least not this soon. Being an immortal makes the death of his parents hit even harder when they were supposed to live forever. Now, Billy has to put aside some of his time spentplaying humanin order to keep his clan in check with the locals. The system he had in place was working great until the pretty nurse bought his house and moved in. Being fated to a mortal human spells disaster for his kind.

NIGHT SHIFT

  • I really enjoyed this dark romance. It had a really good storyline. The characters are weird & awesome. I really liked the fantasy darkness in this book. The characters are definitely awesome. You have a vampire-who can see the future, a demon who's his. To tie it all together a god that are looking for this strong, human who will help them with their way of getting rid of the scum of the world.. On their journey with this crazy Circus and all the twist & turns Maude faces! The ending will blow you away. The steamy scenes are just so hot! Such a great dark, fantasy romance

  • I am in my circus/carnival romance era and this book fucking ATE ...literally... as in the fmc was slurping down brain Juice like it was all you can drink margarita night.

  • This first book has me in a chokehold for this series. I'm writing this as I'm already 20% into the second book because I didn't want to put this story down. It loosely reminded me of Cirque Du Freak if there was more focus on the other supernatural creatures in the circus setting (and of course a more R rated version). The tension created between Muse and Maude had me gasping, it was so palpable. I also really enjoyed the banter and personalities of all the other characters, even Balaam, as well as the way the author set up her gods and their tie to/relationship with the religions of the world we know of today. I can't wait to see what happens next and am still trying come down from the high of this ending.
